Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med Surg Telemetry position in Texas, requiring at least 2 years of experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Med Surg Telemetry unit with a 29-bed capacity, caring for both medical-surgical and some cardiac patients
• Telemetry monitoring and care required
• Uses Epic for charting
• Night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Navy or maroon scrubs required as dress code
• Expect to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with independent decision-making responsibilities
• Responsible for coordinating patient care plans, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary communication
• All candidates, including locals, may apply; local pay rates may differ based on facility radius rules
• No COVID vaccine required for employment
• Travelers may only hold one position within the system at a time

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license
• At least 2 years of Med Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Certification required, with updates as specified by employer
• Nursys licensure verification and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Must provide US Social Security Number and US home address
