Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring cardiac experience, an active SC or compact RN license, and AHA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) within an acute care hospital
• Patient population includes critical cardiovascular cases with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2
• Three 12-hour day shifts per week, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Mandatory every other weekend shifts and holiday rotation
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating may be required within scope and to similar units
• Epic EMR is used on the unit
• Primary responsibilities include delivering advanced nursing care to CVICU patients and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team
• Royal blue scrubs are required
• Parking is provided at no cost
• Pre-employment online modules must be completed prior to start
• Candidates may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)
• All requested time off must be disclosed during application; approval is based on facility needs

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license must be in hand prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of recent cardiovascular ICU or cardiac nursing experience
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required
• Cardiac clinical experience is required
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• No first-time travelers will be considered
• Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility
• Former permanent or PRN staff must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler
