Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 2 years of recent cardiac cath lab experience and proficiency in coronary stent interventions.

Responsibilities

• Work is performed in an acute care, Level 1 trauma center cardiac cath lab
• Unit comprises 8 cath lab rooms and 1 procedure room
• Procedures include cardiac and neuro angiograms/interventions, vascular endograph/peripheral vascular angiograms, pacemaker implants, stent placements, pericardiocentesis, intra-aortic balloon pump/Impella, PFO/ASD closure, and potential for electrophysiology and structural heart cases based on experience
• EMR is Epic with department use of CUPID and GE MAC Lab/Cardio Lab for reporting
• Schedule includes 4x10 or 5x8 hour shifts, Monday to Friday, with one late shift and one night call shift per week, and call rotation every 3-4 weekends
• Call team includes four staff with no solo work required
• No floating to other units
• Responsibilities include scrubbing and assisting with cardiac, neuro, and vascular interventions as well as device implant/removal
• Candidates may participate in electrophysiology and structural heart procedures depending on experience
• Personalized orientation provided based on experience, including 1-2 days with a mentor
• All clinicians are required to badge in and out of the facility
• Ceil blue scrubs are provided
• Previous employees must have a six-month separation from Sanford Health prior to consideration
• Local candidates with a permanent address within 80 miles will be considered but at a reduced rate

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years current cath lab technologist experience in an acute care setting
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Proficiency with coronary stent interventions and scrubbing procedures listed
• Ability to maintain sterile technique during procedures
• Working knowledge of diagnostic radiographic principles is preferred
• RCIS/RCES certification preferred but not required
• License required if applicable
