Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a day shift Emergency Department role at a Level 1 trauma and designated Stroke Center, requiring at least two years of recent ED experience and an active RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in an adult Emergency Department at a Level 1 trauma center
  • Work in a designated Stroke Center and Primary PCI center for acute myocardial infarction patients
  • Patient care includes triage to trauma, rapid assessment, and emergency acute care areas
  • Day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Fast-paced clinical environment with diverse and varied patient cases
  • Uses Epic EMR system
  • Responsibilities include caring for acute patients, trauma, and rapid assessment cases
  • Strong critical thinking, public health, and patient teaching skills needed
  • Team environment with support for high-acuity emergencies
  • Local candidates are accepted except where a 60-mile radius rule is in effect for specific units
  • Holiday and weekend coverage may be required depending on unit needs

Requirements

  • Active MD or compact RN license required
  • Minimum of 2 years ED experience in a Level 1 trauma center or academic hospital
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
  • Experience working in facilities with 500+ bed count required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • ATCN or TNCC certifications preferred
