Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a day shift Emergency Department role at a Level 1 trauma and designated Stroke Center, requiring at least two years of recent ED experience and an active RN license.
Responsibilities
- Position is in an adult Emergency Department at a Level 1 trauma center
- Work in a designated Stroke Center and Primary PCI center for acute myocardial infarction patients
- Patient care includes triage to trauma, rapid assessment, and emergency acute care areas
- Day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Fast-paced clinical environment with diverse and varied patient cases
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Responsibilities include caring for acute patients, trauma, and rapid assessment cases
- Strong critical thinking, public health, and patient teaching skills needed
- Team environment with support for high-acuity emergencies
- Local candidates are accepted except where a 60-mile radius rule is in effect for specific units
- Holiday and weekend coverage may be required depending on unit needs
Requirements
- Active MD or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years ED experience in a Level 1 trauma center or academic hospital
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
- Experience working in facilities with 500+ bed count required
- Epic EMR experience required
- ATCN or TNCC certifications preferred
