Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 2 years of acute care and cardiac cath lab experience and active required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care Cardiac Cath and Interventional Radiology lab with 3 suites
• Average daily caseload is 8-12 cases including left and right heart caths, STEMI, ICD, pacemaker, carotid, peripheral procedures, IR venous placements, ports, fistulas, biliary and nephrostomy tubes, IVC filter, and EP lab ablations/devices
• Patient care includes assignments in the Cath Lab, IR, and EP lab as required
• Uses Cerner EMR and Xper equipment
• Work schedule is 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with self-scheduling
• Weekend and holiday call required on a rotating basis, every other weekend or as needed, from Friday 3:30 PM to Monday 7:00 AM
• Weekday evening call assigned as needed, with 30 minute response time required, and call team consists of one RN and two techs
• Floating between Cath Lab, IR, and EP lab is required
• Duties include assisting with a variety of cath lab, IR, and EP procedures such as cardiac caths, device implants, vascular and venous interventions, ablations, and device placements
• Scrubs are provided
• Orientation consists of one week of floor-specific training
• Support from a charge nurse is available and supervisor is on call after hours
• RT and pharmacy support are available 24/7
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by any related facility within the past year
• Holiday, weekend, and on-call work is required as part of regular rotation
• Permanent residence distance requirements may apply for local or travel pay eligibility, determined by facility policy and location

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in cardiac cath lab and acute care settings
• Active State or Compact (NLC) license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted. License required if applicable
• Current ACLS, BLS, and Fluoroscopy certifications required
• RCIS or ARRT credential is accepted; depends on department staffing needs
• EP lab and prior travel experience preferred
• Cerner EMR experience is preferred
• Copy of driver’s license must be submitted for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years (must include employment dates and rehire eligibility)
