Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in a flexible overflow unit requiring a NY RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a 14-bed Med/Surg Tele overflow unit within the GI Endoscopy area
• Patient census may fluctuate based on ED boarder numbers and demand
• Patient population includes ED boarders requiring med/surg and telemetry care
• Day shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00-19:00)
• Every other weekend coverage is required
• Floating may be required to meet unit needs
• Uses Epic for EMR documentation, Epic experience is preferred
• Navy blue or white scrubs are required
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Minimal RTO is preferred; all requests must be included at the time of application
• Local candidates within 75 miles are not eligible
• May occasionally be placed on call in lieu of being called off

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required prior to start
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent MS/Tele experience required
• Competency in IV placement, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, peripheral line care, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• Previous charge experience preferred
