Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring prior travel experience, Epic, and advanced certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital telemetry unit
• Day shifts, 3x12 hours, 7:00 to 19:00
• Patient population includes cardiac and post-surgical observation cases
• Patient ratio is 1:5 with a total of 14 beds
• Epic EMR experience is preferred
• No local candidates residing within 50 miles or in specified counties are accepted
• Main responsibilities include caring for telemetry patients with cardiac and post-surgical needs
• Required to wear charcoal grey scrubs
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• Former permanent staff must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of requested time off will be automatically approved and no time off is allowed during the first week of orientation

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent MS/Telemetry experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
• Proficiency in remote monitoring and starting IVs required
• Preferred skills include cardiac telemetry, ER holding experience, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, phlebotomy, heparin protocols, use of nasal cannula, and portable oxygen tank management
