Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring prior travel experience, Epic, and advanced certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital telemetry unit
- Day shifts, 3x12 hours, 7:00 to 19:00
- Patient population includes cardiac and post-surgical observation cases
- Patient ratio is 1:5 with a total of 14 beds
- Epic EMR experience is preferred
- No local candidates residing within 50 miles or in specified counties are accepted
- Main responsibilities include caring for telemetry patients with cardiac and post-surgical needs
- Required to wear charcoal grey scrubs
- No travel pairs or groups accepted
- Former permanent staff must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of requested time off will be automatically approved and no time off is allowed during the first week of orientation
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of recent MS/Telemetry experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
- Proficiency in remote monitoring and starting IVs required
- Preferred skills include cardiac telemetry, ER holding experience, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, phlebotomy, heparin protocols, use of nasal cannula, and portable oxygen tank management
