Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in Texas requiring a TX or compact license and EPIC charting experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 35-bed Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Care for a mixed Med/Surg and Orthopedic patient population
• Patient ratio is 1:6
• Day shift schedule with four 12-hour shifts (7:00 to 19:30)
• Floating required to units of equal or lower acuity
• Centralized telemetry monitoring
• EPIC EMR system used
• Block scheduling available on a case-by-case basis
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• No travel pairs or groups will be considered
• Team includes free floating charge nurse, Patient Care Technicians, and discharge support
• Patient transporters and a house discharge nurse are available as resources
• Free proximal covered parking is provided

• Scrub color is open but must be free of logos
• No more than 3 days of requested time off will be automatically approved, and no time off is allowed during the first week of orientation
• No local candidates living within 50 miles will be accepted

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• EPIC charting experience required within the last 6 months
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify as a traveler
• Former permanent staff must be separated for 1 year before returning as a traveler
