Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN with EPIC experience and BLS/NIHSS certifications for night shifts and flexible float requirements.

Responsibilities

• Position is on a Medical Surgical unit with a 35-bed capacity
• Medical Surgical and Orthopedic patient population
• Patient ratios are 1:6
• Float required to units of equal or lesser acuity
• Uses EPIC EMR for documentation
• Telemetry is monitored in a centralized unit
• Work schedule is night shift (4x12 hour shifts, 19:00-7:30)
• Free floating charge nurse, Patient Care Technicians, and Patient Transporters available
• Block scheduling may be arranged on a case-by-case basis
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Support includes house discharge nurse, Patient Care Technicians, and Patient Transporters
• Scrub color is any, but no logos allowed
• Free covered parking and discounted meals provided

• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no time off is allowed during the first week of orientation

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required prior to consideration
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• EPIC charting experience required within the last 6 months
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify as a traveler
• Former permanent staff must be separated for at least 1 year prior to returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
