Job Description
American Traveler seeks an experienced RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator for an outpatient oncology clinic requiring a DC RN license and recent oncology experience.
Responsibilities
- Position is in an outpatient oncology clinic setting
- Responsibilities include care coordination for oncology (malignant and benign hematology/oncology) patients
- Patient populations include bladder, kidney, brain, breast, colorectal, ENT, leukemia, and blood dyscrasia cancers
- Requires 5x8 day shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- Involves inpatient and outpatient oncology care skills
- Role includes care coordination and symptom management for diverse oncology patients
- Must be able to manage isolation and neutropenic precautions as required
- Flu vaccine is mandatory for all employees
- First time travelers will not be considered for this role
- Applicants must reside outside a 60 mile radius to be eligible for travel rates
Requirements
- Active DC RN license in hand is required
- Current BLS certification required
- Preferred certifications include OCN and ONS/ONCC
- Minimum 2 years recent oncology nursing experience
- Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
- Skilled in recognizing and communicating abnormal lab values
- Experience with isolation and neutropenic precautions
- Ability to perform telephone triage, psychosocial care, and symptom management
