Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring a SC or compact RN license and at least two years of Med/Surg experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Medical/Surgical unit
• 12-hour day shifts, three shifts per week for a 13-week assignment
• Role focused on providing competent and efficient patient care
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility
• No local candidates within a 100-mile radius are eligible
• Responsible for conducting initial and ongoing patient assessments and documenting appropriately
• Delivers age-appropriate care applying knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan
• Completes admission assessments according to policy and procedure guidelines
• Adapts care based on patient needs and demonstrates understanding of treatment requirements
• Two manager or supervisor references from the last twelve months are preferred
• COVID and flu vaccinations may be required as part of onboarding
• No prior permanent employment with the facility is allowed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license is required at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years Med/Surg experience in a U.S. hospital required
• Minimum of 2 years total RN experience required
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA only) are required
• CPI certification (Crisis Prevention Institute's NCI With Advanced Physical Skills Training) is required
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program is required
• BSN is highly desired but not required
• Must have valid U.S. Social Security Number
