Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with at least 2 years of experience and a valid MO or compact RN license for night shifts at a short-term acute care facility.

Responsibilities

• Position is on a Medical Surgical unit within a short-term acute care hospital
• Typical patient ratio is 1:5-6 with general medical and surgical patient diagnoses
• Night shift schedule, working three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:30
• Weekend rotation required every third weekend and holiday rotation per unit needs
• Floats to Progress West and to other units such as surgical or telemetry, within scope as needed
• Epic EMR is used and EMR experience is required for certain units
• Initial orientation may occur on weekdays
• Free parking is available on site
• Preferred skills include chemotherapy administration and charge nurse experience
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days per 13-week contract, with no RTO during the first week of orientation
• Scrub color requirement is light gray or silver
• Modules and orientation training paid up to 16 hours prior to start
• Travelers may remain for up to 18 months with a 3-month break required after that period

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• BCLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience required
• Epic charting experience required for certain units
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• First time travelers are accepted
• No previous permanent employment with the health system within the last year
