Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a CA-licensed ICU RN with at least one year of experience, required BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications, and willingness to float as needed.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in the ICU Float Pool in an acute care hospital setting
• Assignment length is 13 weeks with night shifts (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Staffing ratio is 1:2 in the ICU
• May be required to float to similar units or other hospital locations as needed
• Must work a minimum of every other weekend, with potential for more frequent weekends per unit needs
• Uses Epic EMR system; Epic experience is required
• No on-call responsibilities
• All ICU travelers are expected to float within the hospital and occasionally between nearby facilities as needed
• Royal blue scrubs are required for ICU RNs
• Parking is free at the facility
• Minimal time off is allowed and must be requested at the time of application
• RNs must provide required documentation including SS card and DL
• Holiday coverage may be required per department scheduling
• Block scheduling may be considered based on manager discretion

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of application
• Minimum 1 year recent ICU RN experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• References from at least 2 supervisory sources covering 1 year of relevant employment in a comparable setting
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Cannot have been permanent staff within the last 3 months
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility to be considered a traveler
