Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a surgical ICU position in a high-acuity setting requiring at least 2 years of recent surgical ICU experience and prior travel assignments.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a 20-bed adult surgical ICU within a hospital setting
- Patient population includes trauma, transplant, vascular, GI, ortho-spine, and oncology cases
- Care for ICU and post-surgical patients following ENT, GI, trauma, ortho/neuro-spine, and general surgery procedures
- Day shift, 12-hour schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Assignment duration is 13 weeks
- Floating to similar skill set areas as needed
- Uses Epic EMR, experience preferred
- Responsibilities include caring for critically ill surgical and trauma patients with complex needs
- Orientation held prior to assignment start
- Locals are accepted at the same rate except in specific regions
- Must be comfortable working with a diverse, high-acuity surgical patient population
Requirements
- Active RN license (MD or compact)
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical ICU experience
- At least 2 prior travel assignments required
- Experience in facilities with 500+ bed count required
- ACLS, Epic charting experience, Critical Care certification, and trauma course completion preferred
