Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a current OK or compact RN license and advanced certifications.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, three days per week
• Care for patients with a range of simple to complex health problems
• No local candidates accepted; must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients in Labor & Delivery
• Assist physicians in exams, minor diagnostic procedures, and patient treatment
• Monitor and document patient responses, and administer medications and IV therapy
• Engage with patients and families regarding care plans and hospital procedures
• Delegate tasks appropriately to support staff
• Must demonstrate effective communication skills with team members and patients
• Holiday and weekend coverage may be required
• Returning travelers can extend once up to a total of 26 weeks, and require a 6-month separation before reapplying

Requirements

• Active OK or compact RN license is required
• Minimum of one year of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Advance Provider or NRP Instructor certification required
• Basic computer skills are required
