Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Telemetry position in California requiring CA RN licensure, telemetry experience, and strong cardiac medication management.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a 20-bed Progressive Care Unit with telemetry monitoring
• Patient population includes post-cardiac cath, CHF, and high acuity cardiac cases
• Care responsibilities include some drips and cardiac medication titration
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• Floating to other units within scope of practice is required based on census and staffing
• Patient ratios up to 4:1 during winter surge
• No on-call responsibilities
• Must be able to go for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• Only one holiday requested off (RTO) will be approved
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• Returning travelers must have a minimum one-year break before reapplying

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care or Telemetry RN experience required
• Strong knowledge of arrhythmias, symptomatic Afib and bradycardia management
• Experience titrating cardiac medications and managing post-cardiac cath and advanced heart failure patients
