Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in California, requiring a CA RN license and strong cardiac care expertise.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 20-bed hospital PCU/telemetry unit
• Patient population includes post-cath lab, CHF, and high acuity cardiac cases
• Day shifts, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• Patient ratios up to 4:1 during winter surge
• Will float to other units within scope of practice based on census and staffing needs
• No on-call requirements
• Every other weekend shifts required
• Must be available to complete lab work within 3-5 days of signing acceptance
• Only one holiday requested off (RTO) will be approved during the contract
• Returning staff must have been gone for at least one year to be eligible as a traveler
• Care for high acuity patients, including titrating drips and managing complex cardiac cases

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered CA RN license required
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or telemetry experience
• Strong foundational knowledge of arrhythmias and management of Afib and bradycardia
• Experience with titrating cardiac medications and management of advanced heart failure
• Experience caring for post-cardiac cath patients
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
