Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) telemetry position requiring a CA license and strong cardiac care skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 20-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with high acuity telemetry patients
• Cares for cardiac cath lab, CHF, and post-cath patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Patient ratios up to 4:1 during winter surgery peak
• 3x12 hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units within scope of practice based on census and staffing
• No on-call responsibilities
• Responsible for management of tele and high acuity cardiac patients, including advanced drips
• Only one holiday time-off request will be approved per contract
• Returning staff must be gone at least one year to be considered for traveler positions
• Candidates must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing

Requirements

• Active CA RN license
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant PCU or telemetry experience
• Strong foundational knowledge of arrhythmias, symptomatic Afib and bradycardia management
• Experience titrating cardiac medications, post-cardiac cath care, and advanced heart failure management
• Must comply with a 50-mile radius requirement
