Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med Surg Cardiac unit night position requiring at least one year of recent large hospital experience and an active ND or Compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital setting on a 32-bed Med Surg Cardiac unit
• Patient population includes medical surgical and cardiac cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 4-5:1 on days and 5-6:1 on nights
• Utilizes Epic EMR, Omnicell, and Alaris IV pumps
• 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Floating required to any med/surg unit at all Sanford Medical Centers in Fargo as needed
• Responsibilities include assessments, documentation, medication administration, and completing nursing tasks
• Travelers may self-schedule but must remain flexible to meet unit needs
• Scrub color requirement is navy blue
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Holiday coverage is required on a rotating schedule

Requirements

• Active ND or Compact RN license required or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Minimum 1 year recent Med Surg experience in a hospital with 250+ beds
• BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required (or willingness to obtain NIHSS prior to start)
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Cardiac experience highly preferred
• Cannot accept candidates living within a 60 mile radius of the facility; reduced rate applies for those living 60-80 miles away
• Candidates must disclose any previous employment with Sanford Health and must have had an end date 6 months prior to consideration
