Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medicine Step Down position requiring at least one year of Med-Surg or Stepdown experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Medicine Step Down unit within a hospital setting
• Night shifts with a 13-week contract and option to renew
• 36 hours per week with 12-hour shifts, working every other weekend
• Rotating holiday coverage is required
• No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Responsible for delivering patient care to a range of patients with complex conditions
• Responsibilities include medication administration, IV therapy, patient monitoring, and documentation
• Collaboration with physicians and assisting with minor diagnostic procedures
• Delegates tasks to support staff and coordinates care with other departments
• Coordinates discharge planning and educates patients and families
• Team-based environment with support staff present
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active Oklahoma or multistate compact RN license must be in hand
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA is required
• Minimum one year of recent Med-Surg or Stepdown RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN or higher preferred
• Some computer proficiency is required
