Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medicine Specialty Unit night shift position requiring at least one year of recent hospital experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medicine Specialty Unit of a hospital setting
• Patient population presents a range of medical conditions from simple to complex
• Night shift position with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• 13-week contract assignment
• No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Responsible for a group of assigned patients, including monitoring, documenting responses, and administering medications and IVs
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Interact with patients and families regarding care plans and hospital procedures
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Six-month separation required after 26 weeks of assignment before returning to the unit

Requirements

• Active OK or compact RN license
• At least one year of recent RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required
• Demonstrated skill in professional nursing theory, practice, and coordination of services
• Basic computer proficiency required
