Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with float requirements and adult/geriatric rehab patient care.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Medical Surgical/Rehab unit
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, and rehab diagnoses
• Required to float within the service line and Med Surg units across multiple facilities as needed
• Patient ratios are 1:5 for days, 1:6 for nights, and 1:5-6 on weekends
• Night shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts per week (18:45-07:15)
• Weekend coverage required every third weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic as the charting system
• No vent or telemetry responsibilities
• Provide care for patients with diagnoses including CVA, TBI, SCI, neuro, ortho, cardiac, cancer, and debility
• Daily responsibilities include medical rehab procedures, wound care, fall risk assessment, and diabetic teaching
• Utilize assistive devices and adaptive equipment to support patient rehabilitation
• Perform blood administration, Foley cath insertion/removal, suctioning, pressure ulcer prevention, and pain management
• Scrub color is navy
• RTO requests over 7 days require management approval
• First-time travelers may be considered with unit manager review
• Free parking provided on site

Requirements

• Active OH or compact state RN license required at time of submission
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg or acute inpatient rehab experience required
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Demonstrated skills in blood glucose monitoring, feeding tube care, NG/PEG tube management, IV starts, and trach care
• Must have experience with adult and geriatric patient populations
• No local travelers residing within 50 miles
• Pending licenses not accepted
