Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU night position requiring 2+ years of pediatric critical care and tele monitoring experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 19-bed Pediatric ICU in a hospital setting
- Will float to Pediatrics and NICU as needed based on hospital requirements
- Night shift schedule with four 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 pm – 7:30 am)
- Patient ratio is typically 1:2 or higher depending on acuity
- Care includes use of Medtronic pacemakers, telemetry monitoring, BIPAP/CPAP, mechanical ventilation, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomies
- EMR used is Epic, prior Epic experience preferred
- Provide specialized critical care to pediatric patients in the ICU
- Will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across PICU, Pediatrics, and NICU
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Background check must be clear of open or active issues
- Holiday and every other weekend coverage may be required
Requirements
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years of PICU critical care nursing experience
- At least 1 year of documented pediatric cardiac experience strongly preferred
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred
- Experience with Medtronic pacemakers, tele monitoring, BIPAP/CPAP, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care required
- First-time travelers are not accepted
- Returning employees must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year
