Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU Float position with strong telemetry or IMC experience and active OR licensure.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma short-term acute care hospital
• Assigned to the PCU Float Pool, supporting adult inpatient units including MS/Tele, Stepdown, IMC, ICU, ED, psych, rehab, and vascular access
• Patient ratios are 1:4-6 for RNs
• Responsibilities include management of telemetry, cardiac rhythms, dysrhythmias, O2 protocol, and non-invasive airway management
• Float required to West Valley Hospital (affiliate) as needed
• 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week (19:00-07:30)
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Uses Epic for charting; experience with Epic required
• Care for adult medical-surgical, telemetry, and stepdown patients across a variety of hospital units
• Salem Health Float Pool Team supports multiple inpatient units and requires high flexibility
• First to float to an affiliated hospital approximately 15 minutes away as needed
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Pre-employment modules must be completed prior to start and annually
• Strict RTO policy; all time off must be finalized prior to consideration
• Former permanent Salem Health employees must be separated at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers

Requirements

• Active Oregon RN license required; pending license accepted for application
• Current BLS certification through the AHA required
• At least 1 year of MS/Tele/PCU experience within the last 3 years required
• Must have strong telemetry or IMC experience
• Experience managing cardiac drips including nitro, Cardizem, and amiodarone required
• Experience with rapid response team activation, peripheral line care, and computerized documentation required
• Epic charting experience required
• COVID vaccination required with no exemptions accepted
• No first-time travelers accepted
