Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN in California for night shifts, requiring an active CA RN license and recent PICU experience.

Responsibilities

Work in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) within a hospital setting
Shift schedule is 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (12-hour nights)
13-week contract assignment
Uses Epic EMR system
Relevant bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field is preferred
Local candidates are accepted with the same rate as travelers
All licenses and certifications must be active at time of consideration; pending documents are not accepted
Assignment subject to maximum cumulative tenure guidelines and may not exceed two years without a 90-day break
COVID and flu vaccination may be required

Requirements

Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
Minimum 1 year of recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent PICU experience
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Current BLS and PALS certifications required
Last 4 digits of SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Patient ratios are great. Pay is god

Cons

Travelers can not trade shifts with staff. No flexibility with scheduling. Almost daily assignment changes with shift due to staff working 8 hrs and travelers work 12. Traveler often set up to fail based on very strange order sets and minimal orientation. Must go in with tough skin.

Pros

Sebrona was so helpful and quick to respond. She is kind and patient. She was able to get me the job I wanted with excellent pay. After she done her part she continued to check in with me to see how the compliance part was going. I felt comfortable with asking her questions even though it wasn’t the department she worked in. She would reach out to others and get the answer or be sure they contacted me.
