Description

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardio/Pulmonary Med/Surg night shift role requiring IL RN license and Level 1 Trauma experience.

Responsibilities

Work in the Cardio/Pulmonary Med/Surg unit of a hospital setting
Care for both acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients
Night shift schedule: 7:00PM to 7:30AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
Use of EPIC EMR required
No call or travel partners accepted
Floating unspecified
Responsible for initial patient assessment, development, implementation, and modification of care plans
Administer medications, manage IVs, pain, and prepare for procedures
Provide effective discharge education for safe transition from hospital
Document all patient care accurately in the EMR
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and provide professional communication
Perform and delegate basic care including turning and toileting as per standards
Maximum of 7 days requested time off allowed per 13-week contract
Assignments cannot exceed one year continuously; must take a 6-month break before returning
Must provide 30 days advance notice to cancel an assignment after starting
Compliance deadlines must be met before start; allow 2 weeks for background check and drug screen
Scrub or dress code information not specified

Requirements

Active Illinois RN license; temporary license accepted
Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
Previous experience with cardiac/telemetry patients and Level 1 Trauma required
Associate degree in nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
Documented EPIC charting experience required
Must live at least 50 miles away from the facility; local candidates not accepted

Pros

Sebrona was so helpful and quick to respond. She is kind and patient. She was able to get me the job I wanted with excellent pay. After she done her part she continued to check in with me to see how the compliance part was going. I felt comfortable with asking her questions even though it wasn’t the department she worked in. She would reach out to others and get the answer or be sure they contacted me.
