Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NY-licensed RN for a Cath Lab position with ACLS/BLS certification and pre- and post-procedure care responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Work in a mixed procedural unit supporting Cath Lab, Electrophysiology (EP), and Interventional Radiology (IR)
• Shared prep and recovery area serving adult patients
• Schedule consists of three 12-hour day shifts per week (9:00 AM – 9:30 PM)
• No weekend or on-call requirements
• Average daily census of 10 with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Floating required to IR/EP prep and recovery areas
• Use of EPIC for documentation and Omnicell for medication management
• Responsible for circulating procedures, sedation monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and infection prevention
• Must interpret 12-lead EKGs and manage ACT, end-tidal CO2, and Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale
• Team includes interpretation services, pharmacy, and rapid response support
• Scrubs are provided on-site
• COVID vaccination required with no exceptions
• First-time travelers will be considered pending work history review
• Orientation is 11.5 hours
• RTO is capped at 5 days and not permitted in the first 2 weeks of assignment
• Former staff must be gone at least one year to return as travelers
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Parking is assigned to an employee garage at no fee; street parking is also available

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at the time of consideration
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab RN experience at a teaching hospital
• Previous charge experience required
• Experience managing a 1:4 patient ratio
• EPIC documentation experience required
• Competency with pre- and post-procedure care, IV infusion pumps, antihypertensives, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, and vascular closure systems
