Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a DC RN license and advanced certifications for a fast-paced night shift role.
Responsibilities
- Position is based in a hospital Emergency Department
- Night shift with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week
- Care provided to a varied patient population, including urgent care, psych, pediatric, and trauma/critical care patients
- Nurses manage critical care tasks, including medication titrations, arterial lines, mass blood transfusions, and chest tubes
- Responsibilities include coordinating and delivering care to patients with complex needs, ensuring safety, and promoting a positive patient experience
- Team members utilize advanced critical care skills in a dynamic environment
- No local candidates accepted; must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Compliance with required testing and vaccinations, including COVID and flu, is mandatory
Requirements
- Active RN license in the District of Columbia required
- Minimum of two years recent ER experience in a U.S. hospital setting required
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC (AHA only)
- CPI certification mandated by position
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) highly desired
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Must provide a valid U.S. Social Security number for consideration
- References from two managers or supervisors within the past twelve months preferred, with at least one from the most recent employer
- No pending licenses accepted—active license must be in hand
