Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring an active NY RN license, EPIC experience, and advanced emergency care skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with all emergency diagnoses
• Patient ratio is 1:5
• Handles cases involving CVA (stroke), neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, TBI, and ortho trauma
• Performs specialized procedures such as IV therapy including blood product administration and vasopressors, ventilator management, and cardiac monitoring
• Uses equipment including Bair hugger, rapid infuser, safe patient handling equipment, CPAP/BiPAP, and monitors dysrhythmias
• Night shift position (7:00 pm – 7:00 am); 3x12 hour shifts
• Every other weekend and every other holiday may be required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Floating required within skillset
• Provide emergency patient care including triage, trauma stabilization, and advanced care for adult and geriatric patients
• Work alongside a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, state-of-the-art emergency facility
• Scrub color required: navy blue and white, in any combination
• All RTO requests must be submitted at time of application for consideration
• Expectation to cover every other holiday and weekend as scheduled

Requirements

• Active NY Single State RN license required at time of consideration
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department RN experience required
• Experience with EPIC charting system required
• Must be skilled in phlebotomy, central line care, starting/maintaining IVs, IV vasopressors, ventilator management, emergency triage, pediatric and adult trauma
• Must not reside within 75 miles of the facility
• First-time travelers are accepted
