Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring an active IL RN license and experience in med-surg cardiac or telemetry nursing.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Magnet-designated acute care hospital on the Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Direct patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5
• 12-hour day shifts (06:45 to 19:15), three shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• May be required to float between facilities in Belleville and Shiloh, and within the facility
• Uses EPIC EMR system; EPIC experience may be required
• Total staffed beds: 97
• Must provide direct patient care on a telemetry unit
• First time travelers are accepted for this role
• Navy scrubs required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Up to 7 days of requested time off allowed within a 13-week contract; no time off during orientation week
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may stay for up to 18 months and must take a 3-month break after 18 months

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required for consideration
• Minimum 1 year of med-surg cardiac or telemetry RN experience
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• EPIC charting experience required for certain units
• No local candidates; must reside outside a 75-mile radius
