Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position in Massachusetts requiring an active MA RN license and competency in telemetry strip interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Work on a 32-bed Med/Surg Orthopedic/Neuro unit with medical overflow patients
• Night shift from 19:00 to 07:30 with every other weekend required
• Patients include scheduled elective orthopedic and neuro/surgical cases, fractures, neurological patients, and general medical overflow
• Clinician to patient ratio is 1:4-5 during days/evenings and 1:5-6 at night
• Travelers are required to float to applicable units as needed
• EMR system used is Epic and prior experience is beneficial
• Must be able to interpret and document telemetry strips accurately
• Flu vaccination is required and no exemptions are accepted
• Parking is available at public lots with daily rates; validated parking is not provided
• Travelers must reside more than 60 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston to receive standard rates; locals receive a reduced rate
• First time travelers are not specified; candidates should meet all listed requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license in MA; no pending or conditional licenses accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Current BLS certification from AHA required
• Current ACLS certification from AHA preferred
• Proficiency in neuro assessment and telemetry, including reading and interpreting tele strips
• Ability to provide references and verification of licensure
