Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a medical-surgical position on an innovative acute care unit requiring Level 1 trauma and large hospital experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in an acute care hospital setting on a 32-bed medical-surgical innovations unit
- Adult patient population with a variety of disease processes
- Level 1 trauma center environment
- Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 on days/evenings and 1:5-6 on nights
- Uses EPIC for charting, along with OmniCell, Philips Care Monitors, glucometers, bladder scanners, Language Line, and Zebra phones
- 12-hour rotating day and night shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday required
- May be required to float to other med-surg units within the hospital system
- All rooms are single-occupancy
- Primary duties include performing assessments, administering medications, coordinating care with the interdisciplinary team, and documenting in EPIC
- Required to badge in and out at the facility
- Scrub color is navy blue
- Initial orientation includes 8 hours of classroom training and 24 hours of unit training
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible; those living 60 to 80 miles will receive a local pay rate
- Candidates with previous employment at the health system must have an end date at least 6 months before consideration
- First-time travelers are highly encouraged to apply
Requirements
- Active ND or compact RN license in hand
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in a hospital with at least 250 beds
- Experience working in a busy Level 1 trauma center required
- Demonstrated experience with EPIC charting
- Willingness to float to all units and locations as needed
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively on a team

Sebrona was so helpful and quick to respond. She is kind and patient. She was able to get me the job I wanted with excellent pay. After she done her part she continued to check in with me to see how the compliance part was going. I felt comfortable with asking her questions even though it wasn’t the department she worked in.
