Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN with a NM or compact state RN license and a minimum of two years' large OR experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the operating room of a hospital setting
• Schedule consists of 4x10 hour day shifts from 0630 to 1700
• Requires floating between departments or to local locations within 20 miles
• Opportunity to scrub in on surgical cases
• Epic EMR experience preferred, but training is available on-site
• Exposure to a variety of surgical specialties including ortho, EENT, and vascular
• Provide direct patient care throughout the surgical process, from assessment to post-procedure documentation
• Coordinate care with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure safe and efficient patient-centered care
• Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel as required
• Must pass orientation and all required competency testing
• Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia Testing is not required for OR but is specified for other unit types
• Scrub attire in accordance with hospital policy

Requirements

• Active RN license in New Mexico or a compact state
• Minimum two years of recent experience in a large operating room
• Ability to scrub is required
• Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment
• BLS certification required through AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN or ASN) required
• PALS and ACLS certifications preferred
• Epic EMR system experience preferred
• No locals allowed; must live more than 50 miles from the facility
• Returning permanent staff must wait one year before consideration as a traveler
