Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Dept night shift position in Texas requiring a compact or TX RN license and specific emergency certifications.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Emergency Department of a hospital
• Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract with 48 hours per week
• Care provided to a wide range of emergent patient populations
• Direct care for patients in emergency situations including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and medical cases
• Holiday coverage may be required according to departmental needs
• No local candidates accepted; must live outside a 50-mile radius
• Dress code and scrub requirements set by department
• Team-oriented environment with support from interdisciplinary staff

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent emergency department RN experience
• Current BLS and ACLS from AHA or ARC required
• NIH Stroke Certification required
• CPI certification required (or accepted alternatives: SAMA, MAB, ACPMA)
• PALS required
• TNCC required for ER nurses
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• Must provide at least one professional reference per state guidelines
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
