Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in a Level III hospital, requiring an IN or compact RN license, BLS, and NRP certifications.

Responsibilities

Work in a Level III Labor & Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms, 3 triage rooms, 2 OR suites, and 4 ATP rooms
Approximately 200 deliveries take place in the unit each month
Full-time schedule with 12-hour day shifts from 7:00am to 7:30pm
Rotating holidays and every third weekend are required
The RN will provide direct patient care, implement and monitor care plans, and coordinate multidisciplinary care
Holiday coverage and every third weekend are required as part of the schedule
Must possess the ability to coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team
Applicants may only apply to one position with this hospital system at a time
Local candidates are accepted but will be offered a reduced pay rate based on proximity to the facility
The COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this position as of July 1, 2023
Travelers should discuss possible contract extensions with their managers 45 days prior to the end of the assignment

Requirements

Active IN or compact RN license required
Minimum 1 year recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required
Current NRP certification from AHA/AAP is required
ACLS certification from the American Heart Association is preferred
Fetal Monitoring certification preferred if not covered on competency exam within the past 2 years (AWHONN, Relias, or similar)
Must provide Nursys license verification within 30 days prior to start
Applicants must have a valid US Social Security Number and provide a US address
