Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical/Transplant unit night shift position requiring at least one year of hospital experience and an Oklahoma or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the Surgical/Transplant unit of a hospital
- Patient population includes a range of surgical and transplant cases from simple to complex
- Three 12-hour night shifts per week
- Role involves working with a multidisciplinary team and supporting patient care throughout hospitalization
- No local candidates accepted per 50-mile radius rule
- Deliver direct nursing care, monitor patient physiological data, and intervene as necessary
- Document patient responses and changes to prescribed medical treatments
- Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor procedures
- Interact with patients and families regarding care plans and discharge information
- Responsible for delegating tasks to support staff
- Must comply with hospital policies regarding referrals and teamwork
- Extensions beyond 26 weeks may require a 6-month separation before new contract consideration
Requirements
- Active OK RN license or current compact RN license required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA is required
- Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
- Minimum of one year of recent hospital RN experience required
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
- Good verbal and written communication skills required
- Basic computer skills needed

Pros
