Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical/Transplant unit night shift position requiring at least one year of hospital experience and an Oklahoma or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Surgical/Transplant unit of a hospital
• Patient population includes a range of surgical and transplant cases from simple to complex
• Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Role involves working with a multidisciplinary team and supporting patient care throughout hospitalization
• No local candidates accepted per 50-mile radius rule
• Deliver direct nursing care, monitor patient physiological data, and intervene as necessary
• Document patient responses and changes to prescribed medical treatments
• Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products
• Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor procedures
• Interact with patients and families regarding care plans and discharge information
• Responsible for delegating tasks to support staff
• Must comply with hospital policies regarding referrals and teamwork
• Extensions beyond 26 weeks may require a 6-month separation before new contract consideration

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or current compact RN license required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA is required
• Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Minimum of one year of recent hospital RN experience required
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
• Good verbal and written communication skills required
• Basic computer skills needed
