Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Float RN with at least 1.5 years of experience and active NJ or compact RN license to provide care in various pediatric units.

Responsibilities

• Work in a pediatric setting, floating among pediatric heme/oncology (no chemo or infusions), general pediatrics, adolescents, newborn nursery, and special care nursery
• May take Med/Surg assignments in all areas, including PICU, NICU, and Pediatric ED
• Patient ratio is 1:5
• Night shift, 3x12 hours per week from 19:00 to 07:30
• Every other weekend and holiday work required as applicable
• No block scheduling
• EPIC charting system is used
• Provide age-appropriate care for pediatric, adolescent, and newborn patients
• Will float among various units based on need
• First time travelers are accepted for this assignment
• Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed
• Locals are accepted at the same rate

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent pediatric nursing experience
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS required; APHON preferred
• Experience with IV pumps, pulse oximeters, and cardiac monitoring required
• Must have skills in IVs, TPN, G-tube, trach tubes, central lines, foley, NG tubes, respiratory treatments, transfusions, and pre-/post-op care
• Experience with Epic EMR is required or preferred
• Former RWJBH staff (full time or PRN) must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before eligibility
