Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Float Pool RN for night shifts at a Level I trauma, teaching, and Magnet hospital requiring a SC or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital float pool environment covering multiple medical-surgical units
• Required to float between medical-surgical floors at the main hospital and an additional campus
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Minimum of 3-4 weekend shifts required each schedule period
• Holiday rotation is required
• Patient ratios vary by unit assignment
• Uses Epic EMR
• Duties include providing nursing care and support across various medical-surgical units as assigned
• Must wear solid royal blue or white tops with royal blue bottoms as scrub attire
• First-time travelers are accepted for this role
• Returning employees must have a one-year separation from prior employment in the hospital system
• Modules must be completed prior to start
• Holiday coverage required as part of the schedule
• During hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
• Parking requires a registration fee and permit for designated garage

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required, with priority to those already licensed in SC
• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Candidates residing within 60 miles considered locals and may be subject to alternate rate
• Social Security Number and driver's license required for consideration
