Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with a current NY license for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring Epic and cardiac monitoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is located in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• 26-bed unit specializing in care for post-PCI, pacemaker, AICD, and post-MI patients, as well as cardiac pharmacological interventions
• Nurse to patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:7
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
• Every other weekend is required
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Locals must live more than 75 miles from the facility
• Main responsibilities include monitoring and caring for patients with cardiac needs, including emergency response and rapid code situations
• Required to use isolation precautions and provide peripheral line and respiratory care
• First time travelers are accepted for this position
• Any combination of navy and white scrubs is permitted

Requirements

• Active NY RN license in hand is required
• Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• BLS certification is required
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
• Ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and non-invasive airway management
