Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with telemetry skills and night shift coverage in a community hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a community hospital
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5
• Provides care for post-cath patients and patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Night shifts consist of three 12-hour shifts per week from 18:45 to 07:15
• Assignment requires eight weekend shifts per six-week schedule, including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
• Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
• EPIC charting system is used
• 16-bed ICU within a 240-bed hospital
• Responsibilities include managing telemetry monitoring and caring for post-cath patients
• May be assigned charge RN shifts and must cover holiday shifts as needed
• Navy scrubs are required
• Modules and compliance trainings are completed prior to start and annually after hire
• First-time travelers are accepted
• No more than seven days of requested time off are permitted during the assignment
• Drug screening required; diluted or positive results not cleared by the Medical Review Officer will disqualify candidates for six months
• No travel partners are accepted for this assignment
• Free parking is available for staff

Requirements

• Active RN license in MO, KS, or a compact state, must be in hand
• Minimum of two years recent specialty experience in Med/Surg Telemetry, including at least 12 months within the past year and no gap in employment greater than 90 days
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring required
• Ability and willingness to float as needed is required
• Two professional references from the past year, including one supervisor and one charge RN, are needed for consideration
• Pending licenses are not accepted
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
