Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Pediatric Float Pool position requiring at least one year of experience, an active OK or compact RN license, and AHA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Pediatric Float Pool within a hospital setting
• Care for a variety of pediatric patients with conditions ranging from simple to complex
• 12-hour day shifts with required weekend and holiday coverage
• Assignment length is 13 weeks
• No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Responsible for managing an assigned group of pediatric patients and documenting interventions
• Assist physicians in patient exams and procedures, including administering medications and monitoring IV infusions
• Interact with patients and families regarding care plans and discharge instructions
• Delegation of appropriate tasks to support staff
• Holiday and weekend coverage is required as part of the schedule
• Must be able to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and families

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by Oklahoma or a multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of one year RN experience in a pediatric or hospital setting required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and the healthcare team
