Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Skilled Nursing and Rehab position in a long-term care facility, requiring an active IL RN license and strong Med/Surg skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a skilled nursing and rehab unit within a long-term care facility
• Cares for up to 20 residents with an average daily census of 72
• Patient population includes dementia, rehab, and post-surgical cases
• Direct patient care responsibilities, including IV administration and wound care
• Required to work 3x12 hour day shifts from 6:30 to 19:00
• Every other weekend rotation is required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Utilizes PowerChart EMR system
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Works closely with CNA/HCA staff as part of a collaborative care team
• Special equipment such as lifting devices is utilized for patient care
• Blue scrubs are required for staff attire
• Free parking is available onsite
• No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract and no RTO during the first week of orientation
• Permanent facility employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in hand required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• IV certification required prior to start
• Dementia care training or experience strongly recommended
• Strong Med/Surg and acute care experience helpful, but not required
• Excellent customer service skills required
• Experience with PowerChart EMR preferred
