Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU Float Pool night shift position requiring pediatric critical care and level one trauma experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital setting as part of the Pediatric ICU Float Pool
- Provides care to pediatric ICU patients with a variety of complex conditions
- Night shift schedule with required holiday and weekend coverage
- Float pool role requiring flexibility across different units with priority given to float pool assignments
- Must have experience in a level one trauma environment
- Care responsibilities include patient assessment, administering medications, managing IV infusions, and documenting patient responses
- Supports physicians during examinations and minor procedures
- Communicates care plans and discharge instructions to patients and families
- Delegates tasks appropriately to support staff
- A strict 50-mile radius rule is enforced; no local candidates will be considered
- Travelers may only extend once, requiring a 6-month separation before reapplying after 26 weeks of work
- Scrub and dress code details will be provided upon assignment
Requirements
- Active Oklahoma or compact multistate RN license required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum of 1 year of recent pediatric ICU nursing experience required
- Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Strong knowledge of professional pediatric nursing theory, practices, and techniques
- Ability to respond effectively to diverse cultural and language needs
