Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU Float Pool night shift position requiring pediatric critical care and level one trauma experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital setting as part of the Pediatric ICU Float Pool
• Provides care to pediatric ICU patients with a variety of complex conditions
• Night shift schedule with required holiday and weekend coverage
• Float pool role requiring flexibility across different units with priority given to float pool assignments
• Must have experience in a level one trauma environment
• Care responsibilities include patient assessment, administering medications, managing IV infusions, and documenting patient responses
• Supports physicians during examinations and minor procedures
• Communicates care plans and discharge instructions to patients and families
• Delegates tasks appropriately to support staff
• A strict 50-mile radius rule is enforced; no local candidates will be considered
• Travelers may only extend once, requiring a 6-month separation before reapplying after 26 weeks of work
• Scrub and dress code details will be provided upon assignment

Requirements

• Active Oklahoma or compact multistate RN license required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent pediatric ICU nursing experience required
• Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Strong knowledge of professional pediatric nursing theory, practices, and techniques
• Ability to respond effectively to diverse cultural and language needs
