Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with an active AL or compact RN license and at least two years of ED experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
  • Day shift position, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • 13-week contract assignment
  • Patient care involves acute and emergent cases
  • Utilizes Meditech EMR system
  • Includes scheduled orientation hours
  • All ICU and ED RNs must pass competency testing including a cardiac exam
  • Virtual orientation includes competency-based modules instead of pre-employment HealthStream modules
  • Timekeeping is managed via Centricity
  • Local candidates are accepted without a mileage restriction
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

  • Active AL or compact RN license required at time of consideration; no pending or temporary licenses accepted
  • No past or current license violations or disciplinary actions allowed
  • Minimum 2 years of total RN experience with at least 1 year of recent ED nursing experience
  • BLS and ACLS required per standard for ED roles
  • Must complete both an online pre-test and on-site test for ED RN competency during onboarding
