Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg position requiring tele experience and a compact or PA RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is on general Med/Surg, Med/Surg Tele, and post-op surgical units
• Patient population includes general Med/Surg, post-op, bariatrics, and oncology cases
• Unit sizes include 21 beds, with a monthly department volume of 585 patients
• Staff-to-patient ratio is 1:6, with a surge plan allowing up to 1:7
• May float to Med/Surg Tele units as needed
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, with every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Uses Cerner EMR; Cerner experience is preferred
• Responsibilities include administering general medical care, performing remote telemetry monitoring, and caring for post-operative patients
• Monitor techs provide rhythm overview support
• RTO (requested time off) must be less than 1 week
• Holiday and weekend coverage required as part of scheduling
• No blocked scheduling guaranteed
• Travel nurses are considered for floating as needed

Requirements

• Active PA or compact RN license
• Minimum 1-2 years of recent Med/Surg and telemetry experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience of at least 1 year required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• No certifications should expire within 30 days of the job start date
• No work history gaps of 90 days or more within the last 12 months
• Not eligible if employed as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the last 2 years
• Local travelers not accepted; must live at least 50 miles from the facility
