Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position, requiring strong pediatric ICU and cardiovascular experience as well as EPIC proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVPICU) of a hospital
• 21-bed unit specializing in critically ill and injured children with medical and surgical needs
• Patient population includes acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, multi-system organ failure, and ECMO
• Day and evening 12-hour shifts from 7:00am-7:30pm, Monday through Friday
• Every other weekend and some holidays required
• Travelers may be assigned shifts in multiple units or locations depending on organizational needs
• Epic EMR experience required
• Floating is required with travelers being the first to float as needed
• Provide family-centered care to critically ill children in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Will cover a variety of complex pediatric cases, both medical and surgical
• First-time travelers allowed if they meet experience requirements
• Must be willing to float to other units or locations as needed
• The facility is a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center and holds Magnet designation
• Parking on site requires a permit, with alternative transportation options available

Requirements

• Active Wisconsin or compact RN license required
• BLS and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of three years of pediatric ICU experience in a high acuity hospital, including at least one year in a cardiovascular setting
• Two years of acute care experience within the past three years required
• Basic Arrhythmia experience required, with a telemetry test to be passed prior to start
• EPIC EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
• Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
