Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN with a current NY license and Epic charting experience for a rotating day/night schedule.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a tertiary care hospital
• Unit consists of 26 beds and primarily cares for CHF patients, acute MIs, post-device care, and arrhythmias
• Patient ratios typically range from 1:5 to 1:7
• Four 12-hour shifts per week on a rotating day/night schedule
• Every other weekend required
• Must be available to work some holidays
• Epic EMR is used and prior experience is required
• Floating to other units is required
• Primary responsibilities include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of rapid response and code teams, and post-device cardiac care
• Peripheral IV therapy, phlebotomy, and non-invasive airway management competence required
• Isolation precautions are observed according to hospital protocols
• Scrub color required: any combination of navy and white
• First time travelers are accepted for this position

Requirements

• Active NY RN license in hand required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
• Experience with Epic charting required
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility
