Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on an inpatient overflow unit, with preference for stepdown and charge experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in an inpatient hospital overflow unit with a mixed Medical/Surgical and Stepdown patient population
• Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Charge and stepdown experience is preferred
• Care is provided to a variety of patients ranging from simple to complex
• No local candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered
• Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, documenting interventions, administering medications, and assisting with diagnostic procedures
• Delegation of tasks to support staff is expected as part of daily duties
• Must be able to adapt to a broad range of patients and rapidly changing conditions
• Holiday coverage may be required as part of the scheduling rotation
• Candidates with prior charge experience are preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license from Oklahoma or a compact state required
• Minimum of 1 year recent nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate nursing care effectively
