Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift position on the Ortho/Trauma Unit requiring stepdown and Med/Surg experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is on the Ortho/Trauma Unit within a hospital setting
• Provides care to a variety of patients with both orthopedic and trauma conditions
• Shift is 12 hours, nights, three days per week
• Experience with both stepdown and Med/Surg patient populations is required
• Responsibilities include monitoring and assessing patients, administering medications and IV infusions, assisting with minor procedures, and documenting patient care
• The nurse will interact with patients and families to develop and communicate care plans and facilitate discharge planning
• Delegation of appropriate tasks to support staff is expected
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility to be eligible

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multi-state compact RN license (eNLC)
• Minimum of one year of recent nursing experience
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required
• Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse populations
• Familiarity with both stepdown and Med/Surg nursing standards and procedures
