Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in an Ortho/Trauma unit requiring stepdown skills and an active Oklahoma or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Ortho/Trauma Unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes medical-surgical and stepdown cases with varying complexities
• Day shifts with 12-hour shifts, three days per week
• Stepdown experience is required
• No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Delivers nursing care to patients with both simple and complex needs in an ortho/trauma setting
• Responsible for administering medication, monitoring physiological data, and assisting with minor diagnostic procedures
• Documents patient responses and updates physician orders as needed
• Interacts with patients and families regarding care plans and discharge instructions
• Delegates appropriate tasks to support staff

Requirements

• Active Oklahoma or multistate compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Ability to provide care for both med/surg and stepdown level patients
